Day 2 of the Death Slam Invitational NA #3 started off with Floormen vs Lowkey W in the Loser's Bracket to determine who would go against Melee Creeps in the Grand Finals. Lowkey W won the first game in an extremely dominate fashion, with the second game going exclusively in Floormen's favor until around the 17 minute mark where Lowkey W managed to flip a Mid Boss fight away from Floormen and secure their spot in the Grand Finals shortly after.

Game 1: The First Clash

Melee Creeps and Lowkey W was meeting for their first time in this tournament. Melee Creeps would have to go against a warmed up and hungry Lowkey W to secure the win. Melee Creeps, known for their 18 win streak in DLNS and Trolli $10k tournament win, had a lot to prove against the premier EU team. Not only is Lowkey W - led by coach Lightbringer - considered one of, if not, the best teams in EU at the moment, Melee Creeps has not won a single tournament in over a month.

The drafting phase took an interesting turn when Lowkey W decided to target RangeRns's hero pool, drafting double supports heroes Rem and Ivy on happex and obikym respectively, something we had not seen previously from any team during this event. Melee Creeps was then forced to put RangeRns on support Vindicta. This worked out in Melee Creeps favor, as Lowkey W did not have the damage to down a rather tanky Saiah Abrams, fishcake Billy, or eidorian Silver. This frontline protected their carries dew and JonJon to allow them to pop off during this match.

Lowkey W won the laning phase, but at the 12:28 minute mark lost all that hard progress to a fight over the urn where Melee Creeps came out on top, and carried that momentum to win the first game.

Game 2: Melee Creeps come out on top again

The draft was shaken up quite a bit on both sides for this game. Lowkey W opted to leave the Ivy alone, in favor of stealing Celeste away from a dominate dew. But that didn't stop dew from playing a decisive game on Silver, going 7-3-26. Lowkey W tried to catch Melee Creeps off guard with a Grey Talon pick, but his impact just wasn't enough with expert dodges of the Guided Owl through doors coming from eidorian's The Doorman who went 8-1-24.

The laning phase of this match was fairly even until JonJon,who had a phenomenal game on Venator going 9-2-21 and wracking up over 48k in player damage, managed to solo Lowkey W's yellow Walker, giving him a hefty boost of around 2k souls around the 14 minute mark while both teams were fighting over urn.

This sneaky Walker kill was a pivotal moment that swung the game heavily in Melee Creeps favor, as it was all downhill for Lowkey W from there.

Game 3: Melee Creeps take it home

Lowkey W opted to pick second in the draft for this match, opting to try obikym on Haze and Lystic on Billy. Meanwhile Melee Creeps mostly kept things the same, but decided to swap out the Venator for Lash for JonJon since Lowkey W banned Venator.

This ended up being Melee Creeps most decisive game of this series, as they started out strong and kept the momentum rolling the entire 32 minutes of this match. Saiah's unkillable Abrams again kept Zerggy's Wraith out of fights, denying Lowkey W much of their damage to win fights.

dew also had an incredible game on Celeste, going 12-3-31, but more impressively getting 58k player damage, which was 22k more damage than the second player in the lobby - which belong to eidorian's The Doorman.

Lowkey W ultimately failed to respect Saiah on Abrams and dew's ability to dominate on both Celeste and Silver, allowing them to make plays all throughout this series. The space Saiah managed to make for his carries, and the complete match flips dew orchestrated, make it tough to pick an MVP between the two.

If I had to choose, dew is the MVP of the entire tournament. He cemented this in Melee Creep's very first game of the event, where he managed to turn losing fights into wins, keeping Melee Creeps in the game against Bird with Clock until his team was able to stand on their feet and ultimately $5k USD in winnings.

GGs and see ya'll next weekend for the Night Shift Open where there is $12k USD prize pool on the line!
